Dedicated Distributed Controller
Application Specific Control System for OEM’s
Based on distributed architecture integrating display, keypad,
22mm industrial operators, membrane switches and main CPU in one housing. This controller further integrates with custom smart I/O. The DDC is also
available either as a custom operator interface or as a custom
pushbutton station for connection to standard protocol controllers. Now available with Zigbee RF for wireless sensor integration. A cost effective application specific controller for all OEM applications.
BTR has integrated an Operator Interface, industrial operators
and distributed control technologies into one standard product
customized to meet your needs. This cost effective design brings a new level of control sohistication to any OEM application.
The Main Panel functions as a human interface and contains the
main control processor. It has a UL Type 4X
rating and is easily mounted in a standard control enclosure. Flash memory is incorporated for quick software updates in the field. An internal communication scheme based on Modbus protocol is used to network remote Smart Modules or other customer
defined components. Two display types are available; a two line by twenty
character backlit LCD or a new graphics capable vacuum fluorescent.
Other options include custom graphic overlay, audible alarm, twelve keypad buttons for the keypad, six
22mm operators and an Emergency Stop. Any configuration beyond these limitations
can be accommodated in a custom design.
The remote plug-in Smart Modules are designed to your specifications.
Each module contains a flash memory processor; one each programmable LED & pushbutton
for each channel and custom graphic overlay. A five input module contains the main power supply
for the entire system. Standard designs include four & five input, four relay output,
analog input, analog output, thermocouple or encoder. Custom function
modules including proprietary options are designed for
specific customer requirements. The associated motherboard has
an RJ45 connector or 6 pole screw terminal for communications,6 screw terminals for service
voltage, 2 screw termials for E-Stop and each I/O module has a six pole screw terminal.
The control industry is experiencing a revolution in system architecture
from one large specific application controller to distributed control.
Taking advantage of lower cost microprocessors and available network
technology, control engineers have changed directions to a more
economic system model. Distributed control produces less wiring
costs, provides less demand on one processor and allows for easily
customized expansion of the system.
BTR Controls has taken this proven architecture to another level
by offering this same distributed concept in an application specific controller
for all OEM applications. There is a proven cost benefit
to any OEM when dedicated controls are used.
No more unused control components or functions as this system is designed specifically for the application. Installation and maintenance are simplified, the operation is user-friendly and customers become increasingly
satisfied. Dedicated controllers are not just a concept, but a
proven fact experienced through thousands of installations worldwide.
In applications where the annual usage exceeds 100 units, a customized
system becomes quite economical. |
